He reaches with his hand
And looks unto the sky.
He’s joined the life of fallen man.
He’s joined the pain.  He’s joined the cries.

Through engagements on his knees
He starts to build a shell.
For once he stands high on his feet
He’s knocked back down to hell.

So he stands within his chains
And shuts his weary eyes.
Within his mind’s where he remains.
Away from life, away from lies.

He was born as a free man.
And will be that until his grave.
free to walk and roam the land.
But to the Embrace of Days
He is enslaved.
